4 parties in a row

We started our first party in the early morning of Christmas eve at Daddy's office. During one of the game, we cooked "turkey" literary by lining up the different parts of the recipe. In the second game, Nikki paired up with Daddy in the Pictionary challenge. The last game was the best, Nikki got to play the role of an angel while our toy baby "Coconut" played the role as baby Jesus!

Our second party was yesterday's Annual Shi's Gathering at our cousin's new house. They booked the BBQ pit but no bbq fire nor smell because all the food are pre-cooked. There were so much food and drink until they have to give away some as there's no way we could finish all.

Today is the day that we have our annual party. this year Uncle Darren & Ah Zhen Yiyi helped us to book the function room at their house. Like last year, most of our friends and their parents were there. (Thank you for coming....from Daddy & Gugu). Haha, nothing deters us from dipping into the waters even Mummy and Daddy didn't bring our swimming costumes. We went into the swimming pool with just t-shirts and undergarments.
Next, we are looking forward to our friend's birthday party tomorrow, mummy told us that the party will be held in one of the shopping mall and it would be a dance party!

Finally, we get to unwrap our Christmas presents for this year...lots of chocolates, yummy goodies and our favourite gift of all.....TOYS!!!! Of course, our favourite will be Daddy's & Mummy Fairyland toys and not to forget a big thank you to all the uncles & aunties!

Virtual Sports Day

It was another eventful week for our family, definitely never miss the long awaited 3 years once Penguin Book Sales. This year, we harvested 65 books for about $250, Mum averaged out that the cost is only about $4 per book. The deal was so good that we went back to the sales again on Saturday, this time with Zhen Yiyi and Uncle Darren.

After lunch, we went back to Zhen Yiyi house to create our virtual selves on the WII machine, getting ready for our First (Virtual) Sports Day. Nikki created herself with shoulder length hair and blue dress while Noinoi created herself with 2 ponytails and yellow dress. We also create Daddy with spikey hair and even a goatee on his chin. We challenged each other through golf, bowling and even boxing. Eventually Nikki is the winner for the golf game and Noinoi won the bowling game. But one important lesson we learnt is that there must be a winner and a loser in any game, otherwise there is no game! No one is perfect, most importantly, everyone must put in their best effort in whatever they do! Study hard, Work smart & Play hard!

In the evening, Daddy said that he saw two children at the Children Home Thanksgiving concert last night. They are about the same age as us. One who is very focused on her performance, making sure that she diligently delivers every requirements on her part. So much so that when another younger boy standing next to her did one action slower and accidently knocked onto her, she literally pushed him away! Another child was very relaxed on stage and occasionally giving a cheeky smile to the audience. Daddy felt sad for they have to be put up in the children home at this young age for no fault of their own. Uncle Darren also agrees that children like us are blessed.

Thank God for a beautiful day

As we were walking towards the swimming pool, Nikki said: "Thank you God for not raining today so that we can swim!" It has been raining non-stop for the past few days, unlike today, it's indeed a beautiful day!

After church, we went to Ah Zhen Yiyi and Uncle Darren house as they are having housewarming today. We went to their house for swim and we even tried baking cookies with the help from Eileen Yiyi.

Noinoi was especially attentive during the baking process, she stood so close until Eileen Yiyi almost kept knocking into her.
Though the final product according to one of the seasoned baker there wasn't fully cooked but there are also compliments saying that it tasted like "Subway" cookie. To us, whether cooked or raw, Eileen Yiyi's effort has cultured the lovely taste of homemade cookies.
We're looking forward to our next try baking butter cake after the oven is repaired. Hehe, the secret is Yiyi's house oven short circuit and tripped the whole house power supply during the oven pre-heat and thank God, her neighbour was kind enough to let us use their oven : )

Mum's Proudest Moment

Nikki surprised mummy with her superb confidence this morning! She was performing for her school a mandarin nursery rhymes according to mummy, Nikki was not only fluent in her delivery and best of all not a single butterfly in the stomach! Mummy was so proud of her that she called Daddy almost immediately after the performance, telling him what he has missed!

Noinoi said she also has a performance item today. Unfortunately, mummy also missed it. We wonder why didn't the school inform Daddy and mummy about the performance today.

New Room New Assignment

Ah Zhen Yiyi and Uncle Darren finally moved into their new apartment last week. They even got a guest room prepared for us and best we get to choose our new bedsheets for the room. In the kitchen, there is also an oven which we are inspired to try baking some cookies, brownies and cakes this coming holiday!

Mummy said Yiyi is also bringing us to get our dresses and Adam's tuxedo this weekend. Guessed it's almost confirmed that we'll be their flower gals and Adam and Ray will be the page boys for their wedding. Hooray!!! Think we should start our slimming diet with mummy soon? Shhhh... dun ever let Yeye hear this.

We just came back from Ngee Ann City to support our Shushu in the Subaru Challenge. It was raining cats and dogs out there. We prayed for God's protection, strength for Shushu and good weather.

On our way back, we dropped by at the Asian Civilisation Museum for the Halloween event. It's spooky fun. The entire museum was tranformed like a haunted mansion!

Trademarks

We were trying to impersonate each other the other day. It was really not easy to find each others' trademark. Eventually, we came up with the following, perhaps you want to make a guess who's who?

Clue No 1
"Daddy, my brain tells me that my eyes are so tired already, can we go home and sleep?"

Clue No 2
"Daddy said:"Wake up sweetie, wake up, the horse thieves are coming! wake up quick!"

This morning, mummy asked Noinoi to check the shoe rack if there are any dirty socks to be washed, and she came up with another classic. "Mummy! Mummy! P.....L...'s (Daddy's full name) dirty smelly socks coming!"

The Girlie Thing

We finally did it! Our first lifelong girlie thing is to have our ears pierced. We can't help getting kinda nervous because we really didn't know what to expect having a pair of earrings struck to our ears for the next 6 weeks. Believe it or not, anxiety was written all over our faces. Nevertheless, we get to choose our first pair of earrings, Nikki got her fave blue "blink" and Noinoi got the pink "blink". Mum said the $$$ (you guessed it? yes, it's a three digit x 2 persons, quite an investment having us girls, no worries we'll try to share our wardrobe and accessories with each other! 8P) will be well spent for quality service and genuine material. For us, as long as the process is painless and indeed, we didn't shed a single drop of tears. Bravo!!!

Speaking of investment, daddy finally paid off his "overdues" for mummy's birthday present. He brought mum to the concert 2 weekends ago. Mummy thought that the $$$ wasn't spent to it's worth because 60% of the concert was delivered in Cantonese which she couldn't understand a single word!!!! She would rather invest the $$$ to her bags collection!

Is Dad alright?

Both Nikki and Noinoi had a great time today, though Nikki didnt really started her day well this morning. She was upset because she couldnt join her friends in school for the Children's day celebration, even the mention of meeting her fave doctor couldn't even cheer her up at all.

But Daddy had it all planned, her eyes brightened up when he told her that they will be going for movies in the afternoon.

After the movie, he brought us to the playground. For dinner, he bought noodle and even gave us our fave drink ..... fresh cold milk after dinner.

So nice until Nikki asked Daddy before he leaves home for his meeting, "Dad! What happen? Why are you so nice to us today?" and Daddy replied: "Have I not treat you nice all these while?" Sigh!

Poor Timid Nikki

Last night, Daddy has been pestering Nikki to finish the Secret Seven book so that they can start another new book. But poor Nikki is so afraid to read the next chapter because Daddy told her that the thieves will be coming to steal all the horses.

Now you know why Daddy is so naggy, yes he finished the book and couldn't wait to start the next book. In the end, Daddy had to read aloud for Nikki the chapter on the "horse thieves" so that she could get on to the next chapter!

Finally, Nikki proudly announced today that she has finished the "Secret Seven". Next, she's could go back her other books, all read halfway also like "The Magic Fingers" by Ronald Dahl and "Little Bo in France" by Julie Edwards.

Baby Language Jokes

Joke No 1.

Mummy asked (in chinese): "Who's your best fren in school?"

Nikki replied: "ZL" (Chinese name)

Noinoi replied: "MY" (Chinese name)

Nikki asked: "Is it that you like yourself?"

Noinoi replied: "No"

Mummy asked: "Then why did you say MY is your best fren?"

Noinoi replied: "Becos I dun know my frens' chinese names, only know their english names, so I call my own name"

Joke No 2:

Noinoi said: "Daddy, Daddy, Nikki ordered mummy to sleep with her tonight!"

Daddy said: "Dun worry, I will cancel order!"

All in God's time

Mummy received a shocking bad news this morning, our cousin's uncle passed away suddenly last night. Noinoi asked curiously if their cousin's uncle has gone to heaven and not coming back. She was also sweet to add that she will share her Shushu with her cousin.

We went bowling this afternoon with Gonggong, Porpor and our cousins. Not too bad for the first timers, all of us did well. Here are our scores:

Play Play Play Yet No Pay

We were out gallavanting again with Ah Zhen Yiyi and Uncle Darren last night. We ended up at this cosy and yet not too crowded place at Robertson Quay TCC. We truly enjoyed it, something that Daddy calls it Great place! Good life!

Ah Zhen Yiyi and Uncle Darren left for Taiwan today, we managed to call them just before they board the plane to wish them journey mercy and hope they will enjoy their holiday.

Noinoi and Nikki were so fascinated with their new toy cash register and didnt want to go for Sunday school this morning. Since time was running short, Daddy left on his own but he didnt forget to give us a good lecture after he comes back.

His point is "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven" Eccles 3:1. In his own words, One shall not dwell in his own leisure and forgets about the needfuls in life. He hopes we could understand this someday!

The Ultimate Anniversary Gift

It's revealed, Daddy's anniversary gift for mummy was an ultimate one. We rushed to the nursery to pick up a bouquet of roses for mummy. They were just about to close for the day. We chipped in by helping Daddy to make a card for mummy that says "I love mummy".

On our way back, after fetching mummy from her school. We detoured to buy a packet of Mee Goreng, which Daddy and Mummy shared together back home.
Daddy said it would be nice if Nikki could play the piano for them. But we doubt if our neighbours would appreciate it at that hour.
Talking about piano, Gugu said Adam have been practising very hard on his own lately. He's asking Gugu what songs Nikki has learnt and he wants to learn them too.
Daddy said if we both practice hard and do well, he may want to let us try out the NAFA audition for next year's new intake by end of this year.

9th Wedding Anniversary on 090909

It's Daddy's and Mummy's 9th wedding anniversary today on 9 September 2009. What an auspicious "sounding" day. Daddy has been trying to date mummy out n a surprise outing since last evening but she doesn't seems to get the hint at all. He has now the last couple of hours to rescue some moment of highlights before midnight. He has also been reminded that he still owes mummy her birthday present!

Mummy and Daddy have been busy for the past weeks since we came back from our holiday. Nevertheless, we managed to steal some good quality time over the weekends. One Saturday evening we went cycling at Pasir Ris Park before the poor water quality there was being reported in the press. Another Saturday, we went to the fish spa with Ah Zhen Yiyi and Uncle Darren. That was real fun and the fishes really knows how to tickle our feet. All including Noinoi had our feet down into the water for the fishes except daddy....giving excuses like hygiene matters and etc. Hahaha

Last Saturday was the BEST of all, we were all treated to the Flyers again and when we were at the peak of the Flyers, our Handsome Ah Gu officially propose marriage to our soon-to-be "auntie". "Cheers to the couple!!!" (Oops, that was Daddy)
Though wedding bells are only ringing next year or even the following year, everyone are more excited than the wedding couple. The dinner table topics at our Gongong's house for the past days have been "The banquet invitation list", "Seating arrangement" and etc and etc. Sigh.....and pity our poor Ah Gu, no wonder he says that he too, has a ring - SuffeRING!

Healthy Lifestyle @ One*15

It was not the usual Saturday for us yesterday, Zhen Yiyi invited us for swim at their club. We set off in Uncle Darren's car from our house, the entire journey was filled with all our chattering and songs. We even sung Happy Birthday song when we saw the giant flag held under the helicopter by coincidence along the ECP.

Upon reaching the club, Zhen Yi brought us and mummy to the swimming pool while Uncle Darren and Daddy headed to the gym first while waiting for another Korkor Peter to join them for run.

After swimming, Uncle Darren even treated us for sumptous ice cream, cakes and pizza at the Latitude. Well it was a deserving treat for Nikki as she managed to swim for a short distance on her own!!!! Hooray!!! ("Thank You Uncle Darren, my daddy and mummy said, we shall return treat after we come back from our trip ok").
After supper we even took a peek at the ballroom where Zhen Yi & Uncle Darren will be having the big day.
Finally, calling it a day on our way home, both of us knock out literally and totally in the car till this morning!

Noinoi's Birthday

We celebrated Noinoi's birthday in advance at our school last Friday. Coincidently, it happened to be Nikki's friend, Kelly 5th and Zhang Lao Shi's 60th birthday also. Though part of the celebration plan was disrupted by the unexpected visit to the hospital, we were able to continue the celebration on Sunday at Gugu's house.

Meet also our new friends, Tina, Trina (in car), Henry (the dog) and Ehana (the baby). Like their names? Yes, we gave them their names! Daddy still hasn't really figure out why does Henry have a bow on his head?
