New Year, New School, New Experience!!!

Happy New Year to all!

Many people have been asking us and our parents, how are we coping with our new year, especially Noinoi who is looking forward anxiously to start the new chapter in her life in the new school.

She was very enthusiastic and took initiatives to pack her school bag, preparing her pencil case, purse and etc. The zeal was equivalent to that she feels for her ballet classes.

Nikki was looking forward to return to school too! She misses her classmates and also this year, she has got an additional role, she has been selected to be a prefect in the school.

First week of school was a short one, for the first three days, Noinoi seems to enjoy her new school life, running in the parade square, play catching, taking specially catered food in class during recess and even taking the school bus is such a joy for her.

Nonetheless, Noinoi being Noinoi, she never fails to surprise and amuse us! On the last day of the first week in school, all the new students were being assigned to a buddy in school whom will guide and show them how to make purchases from the canteen stalls during recess.

Noinoi's buddy was very generous and hospitable. She offered to give her a chicken rice treat on condition that Noinoi can only eat the chicken meat and not the chicken rice. The reason is simple, her buddy likes the chicken rice only!

Noinoi wasn't too pleased with that, she said that her buddy didn't show her how to buy food from the stalls but encouraged her to go and buy potato chips. She also didn't show her the way back to the hall after recess but ran away after eating. (Daddy wondered why her buddy run away, is it because she couldn't stand Noinoi's nagging? Lol TTM)

Good thing that she met Nikki who was the chaperon to another pupil and they went back to the hall together.

Noinoi also told us that the chicken meat was not enough to fill her stomach, so she secretly took a few spoonful of chicken rice when her buddy was not paying attention to the plate of chicken rice that they are supposed to share.

First day of the second week, Noinoi came back home with bruises on both her elbows and knees. She claimed that a boy has pushed her when they were running in the parade square during recess. She said that her injury was so bad that she has to go to the general office. Back home, she even asked if her wounds were as bad as Daddy's wound when he fell last year!

Reaching for the Peak

It was a tearful beginning but it's definitely all worthwhile! Today's the day that we are back for our the rock climbing adventure. The rock wall is divided at 4 different heights from the lowest "Slope", "Hill", "Mountain" to the highest "Peak".

Nikki was rather hesitant and nervous when she was asked to start first after the warm up exercises. She didn't retreat and even started her first few steps before she finally broke down in tears.

Noinoi then took over confidently while Dad and mum did rounds of prep talks with her before she decided to takes on the wall again.

It was like the last 30 mins dash and Nikki tried 3 rounds with a short break during the intervals. Her first try, she reached beyond the "hill". Second time was better, she did it with Noinoi and both started at the same time. They both touched the "mountain" and they even shake and hold hands while hanging at the "mountain" top. The final round was breathtaking, Nikki took on the wall like an amateur in full speed. Eventually she not just reached the "Peak" and she even went beyond to touch the end of the wall! Bravo! Way to go! Peak conquered!! All thanks to Kor Kor Allen, Ben 10, Zee and Jie jie Andrea.
For all our sweats and tears, Mum and dad rewarded us with a sumptous lunch. Coincidently, the real Ben 10 was there too (Not the Ben 10 Kor Kor from the Rock School).
Noinoi was trilled to meet Ben 10 but she wouldn't want to take a picture with him. You gotta ask her in person if you really wanna know why. For the rest of the day, Noinoi and Nikki gave themselves a new name: Gwen & Ben 10.

No more boss, No more work

Nikki was reading the newspaper about the demise of The Salvation Army's Territorial Commander when she suddenly exclaimed "Daddy, your boss die? just then Noinoi added "Daddy, so you dun need to work anymore? Daddy quickly explained that the one who died is his big big boss and his boss is still around, so he still needs to work. Well, that disappointed us.

After dinner, we went to the airport to send the wife of Daddy's big boss off as she accompanies his remains back to their hometown in United Kingdom. Both Nikki and Noinoi was puzzled when they see only his wife and the send off party at the airport. Nikki asked if they have sent his body to the post box and the postman will send his body back to England?

Noinoi was no better, she kept asking why she never see the big boss? She said her friend's grandma also had heart attack and died. Her friend and her parents has to go back to India for a month and have not come back yet.

Chao Tar (Burnt) Food & Cancer

Mummy's new stock of books arrived last week. One of the chinese book titled "Wishing you Happy Birthday" is about how a boy's encounter with a cancer stricken girl. When mummy was reading the page on how the girl describe how all the injections and treatment made her lose all her beautiful hair.......& etc.

Just then.....Nikki exclaimed that she knows that "Ai Zheng" in English is cancer. She further added that Gong gong told her not to eat too much burnt food for it causes cancer. At that very moment, she paused instantly and stared into mummy's eyes and asked innocently, "Mummy, will I get cancer if I've ate just a little bit of "chao tar" food?"

Her question reminded Daddy of the MTV "Nothing Scared" sung by Russell Watson. We ought to give thanks and glory to God for giving us, our healthy body and gives Him all the honor by taking good care of our body, His temple! May the Lord's healing power flow and work miracles now in every bodies of His little suffering angels regardless where they are now be it in the hospital or at home, on the streets or even in the slumps. Have mercy and heal them or even to take them back, if it's Your will. Lord, let no child suffers such torment and we pray this in Jesus most precious name, Amen!

Lesson from the NE MRT Line

Daddy couldn't fetch us for swimming class last week so mummy brought us on the LRT. Nikki was reluctant at first citing that it will be a long walk from the LRT station to the swimming complex. Nevertheless, it was quite an enjoyable ride afterall.

On the train, Noinoi gave us an interesting lesson on one of the instructional sign pasted in the cabin. She said: "Pregnant woman must stand! Mummy carrying little children also must stand. Only the elderly and physically disabled people can sit on the train!"

Huh...... Daddy wonders why are those young and able people rushing into the cabin to sit when pregnant woman and mummy carrying children even have to stand in the train! "SBS Transit Cares?"

New Room New Assignment

Ah Zhen Yiyi and Uncle Darren finally moved into their new apartment last week. They even got a guest room prepared for us and best we get to choose our new bedsheets for the room. In the kitchen, there is also an oven which we are inspired to try baking some cookies, brownies and cakes this coming holiday!

Mummy said Yiyi is also bringing us to get our dresses and Adam's tuxedo this weekend. Guessed it's almost confirmed that we'll be their flower gals and Adam and Ray will be the page boys for their wedding. Hooray!!! Think we should start our slimming diet with mummy soon? Shhhh... dun ever let Yeye hear this.

We just came back from Ngee Ann City to support our Shushu in the Subaru Challenge. It was raining cats and dogs out there. We prayed for God's protection, strength for Shushu and good weather.

On our way back, we dropped by at the Asian Civilisation Museum for the Halloween event. It's spooky fun. The entire museum was tranformed like a haunted mansion!

Unexpected Visit

Daddy received a call from mummy this morning informing that Nikki complained that her heart is beating so fast that even her hands are shivering until she couldn't hold her bread properly. They agreed to meet at Uncle Terence's clinic.

As usual, his clinic is forever crowded and long queue, only relief was at least he's in town this time. After about 2 hours wait, the clinic nurse ushered us to the nursing room that is temporary converted to treat patients with fever symptoms. When Uncle Terence came, we told him about Nikki's encounter. He advised us to admit Nikki to the CCU (Critical Care Unit) for observation at the same time, to have her ECG test done.

When Daddy told Noinoi that her sister needs to stay in the hospital, she immediately hugged daddy saying how much she loves Nikki and wanted to give her something that turned out to be a lump of crushed paper (Haha!). Daddy then suggested that she draw a card for Nikki. She even asked daddy to convey message to Nikki that she must bring back the card and not to leave it in the hospital. Upon seeing Noinoi's card, Nikki also responded with another sweet message.

Several hours later, Nikki's fever subsided and seems to have recovered by God's grace and healing hands. Her heartbeats has also stablised. Mummy requested the nurse to call Uncle Terence to ask if it's advisable to be discharged and do our own observation back home. (Firstly, not cheap, secondly not nice to stay in the hospital especially in the CCU. We even overheard a pastor conducting prayer session for one of the patient who is really critically ill there.) Uncle Terence then came back to see Nikki and agreed to discharge her. Once again Mt A has earned it's name for their warmth customer service, Daddy told mummy it's much better than the "bukan atas" Mt E. Thank You to all the angels of Mt A, of cos specially to Uncle Terence!

Noinoi's Secret

Daddy & Mummy were amazed when Noinoi told them what she drew in her secret message book. She said the girl in the picture is herself and the boy is Jayden, they are out watching stars under the moonlight. Daddy, mummy and Jiejie were all not there because we were at home!

Last evening, we were all Flu vaccinated except mummy who was out facialing. At first, Nikki was kindof hesitant at first but after witnessing Daddy and Noinoi being inoculated without even tweaking their eyes, she decided to brave it out. Praise the Lord, yes, she did her prayers as suggested by the doctor before he administered the injection. Bravo! in less than a couple of seconds, she did it too! Before she slept, she told Daddy that if she ever needs to be injected again, she would want to go back to the same doctor, because he's good that's why his injection is "not painful". Congratulations Dr Goh, you're the second doctor that has won her heart! Huh...Nikki seems to have a soft spot for doctors?

Motivation

Daddy and Mummy have never seen the girls so motivated to go and sleep until last week. We were on our way back from the music class when Nicky kept pestering Daddy to drive faster so that she can sleep early because she needs to be in school by 8.15am the next day. She got it all planned that she will brush her teeth first thing after we reached home, then sleep by 10pm. She was so afraid that she would oversleep the next day, so Daddy introduced the great invention called the "Alarm Clock".

Wondering what's going on? She's going for her school excursion or "excurgen" she calls it.

Noelle was also anxious to take her afternoon nap last weekend, what is she upto? She's going to Ashley's birthday party and "Jayden" will be there too!

Adverturous Noinoi

Firstly was trying to balance on top of the ball, second was the new year look haircut. The latest stint from our Princess Noinoi was stuffing a rolled up sticker into her nostril that scared the wits out of everyone in the house.

We were having lunch at home after Nicky's art class yesterday. Noinoi told mummy that she got sticker inside her nose. When mummy check, she was shocked to see a ball of paper stuck almost reaching her nasal cavity. It was after umpteen times of attempts of digging and nose blowing that finally got the ball of sticker out from her nose.

Our pictures are featured in the "War Cry" magazine again this month, not just us even Daddy and Auntie Phyllis also have their fair share of "identity explosure".

Parties, Parties & more parties

Starting the ball rolling was our children Christmas party last Saturday, thanks to all our friends and their parents' support and contributions. The food was great and most importantly, we had a wonderful time. Our Mei Mei Gugu even brought along her electronic piano to lead us in the caroling but we promise to be better singers next year!

Daddy also have plans for next year's Christmas party to be held in a Hotel function room and a MUST to remember that is each individual family should have their family photo taken and a group photo for all for sweet remembrance.

Christmas eve morning, Daddy and mummy brought Nicole for her eye check-up and coincidentally, her eye doctor turned out to be the MP for our estate. He confirmed a 100 degree astigmatism for her left eye, but meanwhile nothing needs to be done as we have to wait and observe for three more months to see if there's improvement. After the check-up, we attended Daddy's office party and this is the first year that mummy came to join us at the office party.

As the mentioned in the title, our party schedule did not stop there. Following next, was the gathering at mummy's friends place on the following Saturday afternoon, and the Annual Shister's Year End Party on Saturday evening, Phoebe's birthday party this Sunday afternoon and finishing the year with the Countdown party at AVCC.

On Sunday, we did our first debut piano performance at our music school's concert at the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce. Though the concert was a bit disorganised but we had great fun.

Our Christmas tree was set up at home yesterday, almost two months before the actual day. Our annual Christmas Potluck party is confirmed on 25th Dec 08 at our house (likely to be at our void deck beside the new playground). All children will be the guests for the party. Our jobs are to eat, drink, laugh, play, play and play!
Sorry adults, it will be your duties to provide transport, food, drink and finally, your time and commitments!
Through the grapevines, we also learnt that there maybe another year end party on the 27th Dec 08 at mummy's uncle new house. Zhen Yi, will you be back then yet? Wonder who are the organisers and what will be the theme this year?
Life goes no right! Be positive! Here's some videos we took during our last outing and our special dance item taken last night to cheer you guys up a little. :P
