Parties, Parties & more parties

Starting the ball rolling was our children Christmas party last Saturday, thanks to all our friends and their parents' support and contributions. The food was great and most importantly, we had a wonderful time. Our Mei Mei Gugu even brought along her electronic piano to lead us in the caroling but we promise to be better singers next year!

Daddy also have plans for next year's Christmas party to be held in a Hotel function room and a MUST to remember that is each individual family should have their family photo taken and a group photo for all for sweet remembrance.

Christmas eve morning, Daddy and mummy brought Nicole for her eye check-up and coincidentally, her eye doctor turned out to be the MP for our estate. He confirmed a 100 degree astigmatism for her left eye, but meanwhile nothing needs to be done as we have to wait and observe for three more months to see if there's improvement. After the check-up, we attended Daddy's office party and this is the first year that mummy came to join us at the office party.

As the mentioned in the title, our party schedule did not stop there. Following next, was the gathering at mummy's friends place on the following Saturday afternoon, and the Annual Shister's Year End Party on Saturday evening, Phoebe's birthday party this Sunday afternoon and finishing the year with the Countdown party at AVCC.

On Sunday, we did our first debut piano performance at our music school's concert at the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce. Though the concert was a bit disorganised but we had great fun.

Daddy's one second of fame

Here's Daddy - the happy begger! Don't you think he looks professional? Hahaha, we are also joining in the fun this evening.

At the kettlepot stand, Daddy asked Nicole if she's tired, her answer was no. But back inside the car, she asked Mummy why are her legs painful. She probably couldn't differentiate what's aching and pain! Nevertheless, both Daddy and Mummy were so proud of them both especially Nicole who stood through the whole two hours ringing bells and distributing pocket calendars.

All ready for Music school's concert

The music school concert is scheduled on 21 Dec o8. Nic will be partnering with Alicia and Noi noi will be ringing the bells. Hehehe! We even got our performance dresses and shoes all ready.

Today's public holiday, We finally managed to do our Christmas and CNY shopping. Here's our harvest: Christmas presents for Ray, gift exchange and etc. couple of dresses, pullovers and jeans for both of us to wear for CNY (Wait till you see our CNY dresses you'll know what's call sexy! Hehehe), a pair of shoes for Noinoi to wear for the concert, 2 New quilt covers for us again and a belt for Daddy.

How about mummy? Think she has forgotten to shop for herself. Anyway, she already has gotten her Christmas present from Daddy this year. One that she's been longing for and best of all, she gets to pick it herself!

By the way, Christmas party potluck list is out! Most of our guests have confirmed their dishes. They will be receiving the confirmation email from our Party planners.

Last vacancy for NAFA Art class

Daddy and mummy left home early last Saturday morning to register for Nicole's Art class at NAFA. Reaching there at 6am, they were Team No. 15 to reach the pit-stop. After 3 hours of waiting, they finally got the last of the 3 balanced places for their preferred slot class. Hooray! Thank God! "Can't wait to start my Art class, Mrs Sunder said I could draw and relate my pictures very well" says Nicole.

Feeling much relieved after registration, they adjorned to United Square for some "retail and munching therapies" before heading home to crash on their bed. Mummy's retail therapy did not end there. In the evening, while at Gugu house for Nicole's piano lesson, mummy and Gugu continued with their cyber handbag search in between time.

It is confirmed that Nicole and Noelle will be performing at the Music School concert end of this month. We wonder how will it be like? Teacher Karen even helped us to buy a cute santa hat hairband to wear for the concert. We were told to wear formal dresses in either pink, white or red.

By the way for coffee lovers or Starbucks supporters, the annual free treat will be this Thursday 4 Dec 08 from 5pm - 7pm. My Daddy will be at the branch at Liat Towers, where the official launch will be held. Hope to see you there!

Cough bugs go away!

Nicole has been coughing since last week and it has not gotten any better yet. She has been missing classes and lots of activities such as the Nursing Home's fund raising carnival and her long awaited Disney Princess classic show last weekend. Nevertheless, she did not throw tantrum instead she even greeted Daddy and Noelle good bye and enjoy the show that evening. That really warmed Daddy's and Mummy's hearts and even God was so pleased that He made the largest rainbow that day, even Daddy has never ever seen before!

According to Mummy, she even said this to mummy later that evening, "I wonder if Mei Mei, Daddy and Gugu enjoy the Princess show?" To reward her graciousness and compensate her losses, Daddy took some videos for her. Gugu and Daddy also bought some collectibles for her

Despite that Nic was not well, she still makes an effort to practice her piano. Here's her latest practice and the little monkey, Noi Noi's!

No eye check-up today! Nic was scheduled to have her eye check-up today after the failed eye assessments at the Polyclinic couple of months back. Unfortunately, she was coughing and down with fever at 38 degrees today. The medication from the GP doesn't seem to work for her. Since we were at the KK hospital, Daddy and Mummy decided to let Nic see the doctor again.

The nurse at KK Eye Centre recommended KK's Private Clinic which was not too far away from the Eye Centre. Nevertheless, the clinic only have one doctor and waiting time could be as long as 2 hours according to the registration staff at the clinic. She suggested that we go to the hospital's Children Emergency department whereby the charges will be the same (i.e. $80 for consultation except at the Emergency, medication will be included unless non-standard prescription is required). Most importantly, they have more doctors there.

At the Children Emergency, Nic temperature shot up to 39 degrees and the registration staff gave her paracetamol immediately. End of the day, we still waited about 90 mins before we get to see the doctor.

Exactly like those scenes in E.R., the short stopover was not at all pleasant. The whole place was filled with heartwenching baby cries and children screaming and weaning. Faces of worried parents running in and out and some with their helpless helper and grandparents running behind. The only calm eyes we could see were those above the masks of the medical professionals. Their hearts must have been numbed by their daily encounters.

Anyway, getting back to where we first started. Nic's eye check has been postponed till December 2008. Hopefully it will not hinder our Christmas plans and she does not have to put on eye patch when she goes back to school next year.

P.S.> Nic was punished this morning for throwing tantrums when she discovered Dad brought Noi out in the morning before she woke up. Because of her bad attitude today, mum also got lectured by daddy for sparing the rod.

Here's daddy's quote for the day: "Parenting is like tying with rubber bands, shouldn't be too tight that it'll break nor should it be too loose that defeat it's purpose."

Thursday, November 20, 2008

Mummy was at the Popular book fest not once but twice last week. She even took half day leave just to go shopping at the book fest. Check out her harvest...

Total damage? Unpredictable!

Another unpredictable? We were at the "Hungry Caterpillar" with Adam last weekend. The noise level in our car was really unpredictable especially Noi noi and Adam, they kept arguing throughout the whole journey. Nevertheless, Daddy said that we are still very adorable!

Our Christmas tree was set up at home yesterday, almost two months before the actual day. Our annual Christmas Potluck party is confirmed on 25th Dec 08 at our house (likely to be at our void deck beside the new playground). All children will be the guests for the party. Our jobs are to eat, drink, laugh, play, play and play!
Sorry adults, it will be your duties to provide transport, food, drink and finally, your time and commitments!
Through the grapevines, we also learnt that there maybe another year end party on the 27th Dec 08 at mummy's uncle new house. Zhen Yi, will you be back then yet? Wonder who are the organisers and what will be the theme this year?
Life goes no right! Be positive! Here's some videos we took during our last outing and our special dance item taken last night to cheer you guys up a little. :P

Piano class, Speech & Drama class, Chinese class and on the queue now are....English, Maths and Art classes. Mummy is enrolling us for more and more classes. Daddy is also eyeing on the toddler gymnastic and swimming class for Noelle and Nicole. Weekends are just too short for us. The PM asking for more babies? It's not just Money not enough, Time is just not enough too. Understand why the government is extending the Childcare leaves from 2 to 6 days. That's for our Daddy and Mummy to REST because they have no more off days during the weekends!!!

Daddy's very busy lately again. No time to update much details. With apologies, he share his joke about Noelle that almost brought the whole cabin down when we were on the Singapore Flyer on 6 Aug 08.

Daddy and Mummy were busying taking pictures of the beautiful sky lights of Singapore when Noelle frantically run to them and asked "Mummy mummy, why my hands so blue?". Immediately, the lady sitting opposite us, burst yes literally burst into laughter that almost shaken the cabin that we were in. Not long after she in her laughing voice explained to her friends with her: "That girl is so cute, she was under the blue spotlight, she kept shaking her hands trying to get rid of the "blue" on her hands!"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUMMY, DADDY AND GUGU!

Thursday, August 07, 2008

We were back for BUTS (Ballet under the stars) this year again

Thank God for the good weather for it has been raining for the past two days before the day of our performance!

Friday, July 25, 2008

Tomorrow is Noelle's actual birthday, Mummy and Daddy bought a cake and some goody bags for her to celebrate with her classmates in school today. There are also two other girls who celebrated their birthdays in school today. She even took pictures with her teachers, they were all so sporting!
Gugu left for her training in Taipei today, we wish her every success in all the arrangements and journey mercy. Daddy will be fetching Adam to go for Music class with Nicole and mummy on Sunday.
We also want to pray for good weather on Sunday because we will be going for an outdoor concert after the music class. The SDT's Ballet under the Stars performance at Fort Canning Park. We were there last year too, and we enjoyed ourselves so much.

The TSA Annual Report 2008 was officially revealed at the Red Shield Appeal Luncheon last Friday. This year Daddy is not involved but his boss was nice to bring back a copy of the report for us to keep.

Mummy first respond when she sees the book was "Why Nicole's hair so messy!" Sigh... yes that's our mummy! The funniest remark comes from Daddy, he said "Her daddy is not me!" Hahahaha

Today, is Racial Harmony Day, Granny helped to buy the famous Jalan Kayu Roti Prata for us to bring to our school. Guessed what we wear, Nicole could not fit into her CNY Cheongsam that Daddy bought from HK so got to wear the same Vietnamese costume that she wore last year bought by her Papa, As for Noelle, she got the set of Chinese costume bought by Granny from China.

In school, Mrs Sunder even helped Nicole to do Henna drawing on her hand. Mummy said that Mrs Wong topped all the teachers and students, she should win the Best Dressed Award, should there be one. Perhaps should suggest to the school for next year!
Unlike the usual Saturday, Daddy sent Nicole Jie Jie for her Chinese enrichment class in the morning. Instead of waiting outside during her class, we went to the supermarket to buy some drinks for the party.

After the Chinese class, mummy sent Jie Jie for her drama class while Daddy and Noelle went back home to decorate for the party. Think Granny is very excited also, she woke up as early as 5am to wash the corridor! Mummy was so worried that Granny would disturb and wake up our neighbours with all her brushing.

Noelle fell asleep on the way to her class, since they were early so Daddy decided to park outside the school and let her sleep. After Nicole's drama class, she also slept in the car while waiting for Noelle. Nicole slept all the way until we reached the cake shop.

At the cake shop, mummy saw another mummy also collecting her cake, their cake seemed much nicer and bigger compared to ours because their's is a two tier cake.

Just before the party starts, the sky suddenly break with a heavy downpour!!! Our guests maybe thinking what a stingy host! ONLY the Grannies would understand this line! Thank God, the rain stopped about an hour later. By then most of our guests have arrived and to kick off the party, the Magic Prince Danny made his "royal" appearance. He even organised the Pinata game that originated from Mexico. Thanks to all our Gugus, Angila Er Gu Mindy and Uncle Andy, Zeni Gugu, Auntie E-han and Agnes for sponsoring the show.

After the magic show, we have the internationally renowned meal for children.....the Macdonald's Happy Meal! Hahaha. The airplane formation show and fireworks weren't the successful due to the cloudy sky. That did not dampened our party spirits, only felt sorry for the poor pilots and the pyrotechnicians. We counted our blessings thank God for the wonderful party, for the fun and joy that we can share with our friends and their parents.

3) Birthday cake ordered
4) RSVP coming in
5) Magician confirmed
6) Air show, yet to confirm
7) Pyrotechnic display, yet to confirm

Check out the goodie bags and party hats!!

What else is missing? Auntie Tess & her new baby! Just arrived on 14 July 2008, our new baby in town, Ah....Renae? They are still in confinement this Saturday.

Monday, July 07, 2008

The NDP is coming again! The pyrotechnic team for the NDP08 is staying at Lloyd's Inn until 11 August 08. One of them told daddy that they are trying out the 25% of the firework display last Saturday and 50% this Saturday and 100% the following Saturday.

We caught the preview fighter planes formation and fireworks display right from our new house window. The view at our living room was the best.

It was definitely worth the wait for poor Nicole after a long day. She started her day since 9am for Chinese class, followed by Speech and Drama at 12nn on Saturday. After class, Daddy still taught her music theory while waiting for Noelle. After Noelle's class, we proceeded to Tekka Mall to buy the goody bags for Noelle's birthday party! By the time we reached home was almost 6pm, she insisted that she must wait for the fireworks despite not having her beauty nap in the afternoon. Daddy made her sit on his bed and watch the sky, thinking she probably fall asleep after that. Hahaha so naive! She was very persistent to wait till she sees the firework display.

Gugu also helped to confirm the magician for Noelle's party at 5.30pm. Nicole told mummy that she wants to magician to come to her next birthday party also. Huh..... no sure if we gonna have birthday party at home again, otherwise we will have the magician to go to the school!
Guessed what Nicole did in her Drama class today, they made a snorkeling goggle. Last week they also made a fish tank out of paper plate. So creative! I wonder what did Noelle do in her class? Mummy caught her pulling her classmate away by his shirt in order for her to collect her shoes after class!

Should he sell or keep the table? Daddy is thinking of selling off his favourite chest study table to make way for a new piano. The dealer from Grandma's contact suggested daddy to put up an auction in the internet

Mummy thought the table looks ugly and out of theme compared to the overall theme for the new house. But daddy thought the chinese theme seems to sync with the overall deco fronting the living room. Any comments?

Friday, June 27, 2008

Emay Jie jie was very kind to show daddy the mockup of their TSA annual report for 2008. The good news is Nicole's photos after all the digital effects and touch-up turns out pretty well and nicer than the previous stand alone ones that daddy showed earlier. Can't wait for the final product to add on to her portfolio. Hehe.

Our new neighbours moved in on Tuesday too. They occupy two units, one unit resides a family of four, two girls almost the same age and Nicole and Noelle with their parents and the other unit resides their grandparent....so nice.

The girls granny asked Daddy which school was he from! She said her son finds him familiar .... maybe his classmate before?? Huh... I wonder why didnt daddy have any slight memory of that. Haha.

Wednesday, June 25, 2008

Finally moved into our new house on 21 June 2008. Daddy was not able to connect to the WIFI in our new house, hence the delay in this update. The first two nights in the new house, we didnt have our beds and had to bunk in with daddy and mummy. Thank God, the new mattress been delivered on Tuesday and we need not "merry go round" the bed with daddy anymore. To add further, the wait was worthwhile as you maybe able to tell from our expression, how much we love our new bed. Thanks to our Xiao gu, she even helped us to pick a pair of bed guards that matches the colour of our bedsheets.

Tuesday, June 17, 2008

Daddy got a glimpse of the annual report photos today. Two pictures were selected for the Front cover and the page behind the front cover.

The front cover photo according to daddy, he could feel the warmth as if he could hear his heart is calling out "Look my baby has grown to become a little girl now". Only regret was he needs to attend an urgent meeting that morning when the photo shoot was scheduled, otherwise would have been a perfect picture for our family album collection.

As for the second photo, it suppose to be inserted into the page after the front cover, spreading across 2 pages. But they have did it again! The digital imaging and special effects makes me look as if I have not washed my hair for ages. Uncle Adam, daddy's colleague also commented that his face looks like "moulded bread" Haha!

Sunday, June 08, 2008

We met Mozart at the museum today....more like yesterday! We even sleep on his bed and took a ride on his carriage! We were told that Mozart started playing the piano and violin at the age of three and conducted his first orchestra at the age of five! A real Child Prodigy! Daddy brought our cousin, Adam along also since it's his birthday on Monday. After the museum visit, he came back to our house and took his afternoon nap in our room with us. Guess what, he woke us all up immediately after he wakes up.

SCV & Internet connected today!

Wednesday, June 04, 2008

Hooray! Mummy finished her exam today, so ends Daddy's misery yet start of ours! Huh...for those who knows her well to know. Hahaha.

Daddy and mummy checked out our new house renovation today and gosh they were surprised to see how much it has progressed. They are already installing the lightings and carpentry work now.

We should be able to move in on schedule and that will be Saturday, 21 June 2008. According to Chinese customs, we need to prepare the following items for "Moving in":

1. Red Banner and a pair of lanterns
2. A traditional charcoal stove
3. Five treasures: Oil, Rice, Salt, Sugar and Dark/Red Vinegar
4. Five bamboo sticks tied with red ribbon on both ends

Today mummy manages to spend some times with us. She asks Nicole jie jie to practise her piano.Oh forgot to update that Jie Jie is learning music at Sempi music school.Mummy is happy with the school and teacher Karen. So far the size of the class is very comfortable, only 5 students. As for me, mummy will let me learn music when i reach 4yr old.

Wednesday, May 28, 2008

Daddy and Mummy pop by our new house this evening to place the payment cheque for the hardware shop as they will be delivering the sink, taps, basin, water heater and toilet accessories tomorrow. Upon reaching, they realised that the windows, grilles and the shower screen in the master toilet were already up.

Uncle Thomas also updated that the carpentry work will be up next week also. Daddy and Mummy will also be settling the lightings this weekend. Looks like the renovation should be done very soon.
My funny Daddy openly asked his friends and my Uncle for our house warming wish list, i.e. Vacum Cleaner, 37" LCD TV, 2 Standing Fans and 2 desk fans. Any takers? My Monster Jiu Jiu will be sponsoring the LCD TV, his colleagues also confirmed sponsoring the vacum cleaner, but...everyone contributing $15 each. Hahaha.
Monday morning, Daddy's colleagues brought us to the Botanic Garden for their annual report photoshoot. The session was not easy, the whole shoot started about 9am and didn't end until 1pm and we walked from the Tanglin entrance all the way to the Jacob Balas Garden at Bukit Timah. It even drizzled for a while halfway through the shooting. Overall, Daddy's friends said that I was quite cooperative and .... chatty too.

Daddy came to fetch us just before the shooting, we even went for lunch at the NUS campus near the Botanic Garden. Daddy said my picture maybe on the front cover this year.

Almost forgotten, Mei mei and me also made Father's Day presents for Daddy in school

Friday, May 23, 2008

Busy, busy, busy! Mummy and Daddy have been so busy with the new house renovation. This week they have been coming back quite late, end up spend little time with us. But is ok because my por por is taking care of us. It is so fun with por por,she always bring us go downstair and meet up with her auntie friends. We enjoy running and jumping at void deck.

What is the status of renovation? Uncle Thomas told daddy that the kitchen and toilets tiles had overlaid. Currently painting the walls. That is fast. Hopefully another two more weeks all the carpentry work will be done, followed by the furniture, we will be ready to move into the new house. We wonder how will our room look like. Dun't expect pink pink room. Haha.

Wednesday, May 21, 2008

Monday evening, Daddy told Nicole that he's going out for a while and further explained that his office colleague has passed away and he needs to go and say "bye-bye". On hearing that she asked if Daddy is sad. Such as sweetie pie isn't it.

On Daddy's return, she asked further: "Daddy, are you sad? Did you cry? Those words of concern are really heartwarming especially to Daddy. Before sleep, the gals prayed with Daddy. Nicole even reminded Daddy that we should pray for his friend and her children. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord for teaching Nicole so well!

Friday, May 16, 2008

Yesterday morning, Daddy and Mummy went to meet our teachers. All the teachers gave very good feedback for us. Lao Shi said Meimei could learnt the chinese characters very fast. Her teacher in charge also said that she has been reminding her to tell mummy to wear her short with the pocket in front but she keeps forgetting and mentioned nothing. Hahaha.

As for Jiejie, usual too quiet in class said both her teachers, though there are occasional consolations when she still puts up her hands to volunteer her answers. Teacher also mentioned that she is very meticular in her work except need to booast her self-confidence.

In the afternoon, finally the day that we've all been waiting for........ODD (Open Door Day) for our new house, we brought a big pineapple to roll into the house before everybody went in. That was fun! Thank God! Not too bad, no major defects! Can start work immediately, and swiftly our contractor, Uncle Thomas summoned his technicians to start laying the wires for electric, telephone and tv points.

After all the discussion and making all the necessary adjustments and changes, the party proceeded to Kaki Bukit to select the tiles for kitchen and toilet flooring. We have to finalise all the colour scheme and designs by next Tuesday and to buy all the lightings and sink, basin and cooker hob on that day itself. That's stressful!!!!

Report Books

Today our teachers give us our report books.Noelle mei need a lot of improvement.
While for me so far consider good.Tomorrow, daddy and mummy will be meeting our teachers.
Wonder what the teachers will feedback to my parents.
We just cant get enough of the joy and fun we had at the botanical garden during the school outing on last Friday. We went back again with Daddy and Mummy on Saturday. We loved the treehouse and the slides very much. I was a bit hesitant to cross over the "shaky" suspension bridge and the log bridge. Thank God Daddy and Mummy helped us along.

On Sunday, we brought Mummy and our Granny out for Mother's day breakfast. Daddy couldnt find the tim sum place that Granny mentioned and we ended up in Chinatown eating porridge.
