Huahin - The King's paradise

School Holiday came and gone

School holiday finally came and gone by midnight tonight. This holiday we've been grounded because Daddy is busy and Mummy's having her exams again. Nonetheless, we are blessed because we have our Gugu and Yiyi who took turns to keep us entertained.

We were rather reluctant to return home after having stayed over at Gugu house for 2 nights. Gugu brought us to the indoor maze, outdoor park and even treated us to sushi and saloon. What? Did you hear wrongly? Not at all, she really brought us to wash hair at the saloon while she have her hair treatment.

Er Gugu also treated us to the movie "Kungfu Panda II"

However, the best of all is still Ah Zhen Yiyi's present.... Baby Jarius. He's the latest addition to our cousins team.

We had 2 parties at Zhen Yi's house in a row this month. First was Adam's birthday party, followed by Baby Jarius full month celebration! We had so much fun during those parties.

Finally last week, both Mum and Dad paid their dues by bringing us out for a whole full day. We were supposed to go cycling at the park after our favorite and usual breakfast hunt. However, it was drizzling and we almost cancelled the outing. Fortunately, mummy came out with a great idea to replace. We ended up ice skating and it wasn't that bad for us being our first time skating.

Like we've said earlier, we are truly blessed because by evening time, the sky was clear and the weather was cool. Eventually, we had our wish granted as we managed to cycle at Pasir Ris Park by the setting sun to end our exciting day!

On father's day, Daddy brought Nikki out to the Charity funfair before they headed to the International Guitar Divas Gala Concert. As they were walking in through the stalls, the stall holders took turns to promote their products. One lady approached us with a box of egg tarts in her hands and asked: "Would you like to have one?" Nikki naturally lifted her hands to take when the lady suddenly retreated and laughing away as she quickly exclaimed "Oh no no no!" pointing that we should make our purchase.

Nikki also did her tiny part towards the fun raising effort by making a little heart filled with her blessings and prayers on the Wishing Rainbow.

They were so engrossed with the varieties at all the stalls until they almost forgotten about the time. In the end, they had to rush down to the concert venue half an hour before the concert start time and had to gobble down their packed lunch in the car.

All the rushing were made worthy as Daddy could see how Nikki enjoyed the guitar concert featuring world renowned female guitarists like Kaori Muraji from Japan which is also Nikki's favorite, Elena Castoli, She was smiling and tapping her little shoes to the beats of their music on Daddy's gigantic shoes. Nikki's smile was brimming even brighter when Kaori Muraji took notice and smile at her with a little bow after her performance.

Noinoi has also got her fair share of Daddy's attention when she took her swimming test last week. Daddy was there to encourage and support her as she completes her tasks confidently.

Her hardwork also paid off for the ballet exam she took in April as she received her examination results today. She has scored a perfect score, ending this school holiday on a high note!

Cute Cute and Kwai Kwai

We were all so happy that both nikki's ear tubes finally dropped. That means her eardrums are completely healed and she could start swimming again.

Mum and dad immediately took us for swimming at the Hotel Michael the next day. Nikki did well and made a great start despite the long break, she was able to paddle for quite a distance without support. She was extremely thrilled and kept pushing the distance for another good 15 minutes before she called it quit when she started feeling dizzy!

She took a short rest after shower in the hotel room. Shortly after she was all well again feasting on her favorite sushi spread that Zhen Yi bought.

However, it wasn't as straightforward as what we thought it should be. Daddy was summoned back from his office when Nikki couldn't stop crying in the morning. Dad took her to the clinic and the doctor observed that one side of her inner ear was reddened.

She couldn't go to school that day and had to be on antibiotics and ear drops for a week.

A week later, Gugu brought us, Adam and Rae to the Infinity pool in MBS Skypark. This time round, Daddy took all necessary precautions to prevent water from entering Nikki's ears. After the swim, we were all treated to a sumptuous dinner in the hotel room compliments from Adam's dad.

Last week, Gugu brought us to MBS again! This time not to swim but to watch our long-awaited Lion King Musical!

Gugu booked 4 seats in the first 2 rows. Nikki and Adam took the first row while Gugu and Noinoi took the second row. Not long into the show, Noinoi started to cover her ears, Gugu asked if she's scared, she silently nodded her head. For the rest of the show, Gugu had Noinoi sat on her lap while the other $$$ seat was occupied by her branded handbag! Too bad Daddy couldn't join us for the show!

By the way, Cute Cute and Kwai Kwai are our two new nicknames Daddy named us! Cute cute got her name because she posted in her facebook "I am cute!" Kwai Kwai is called Kwai Kwai because Dad wanted her to be good girl as she has not been in her best behaviour lately!

Teacher Assistant Nikki

Nikki has this classmate who's rather weak in her studies. There seems to be many things that she doesn't seems to know nor understand. Nikki says that this friend is a nice and obedient girl but she is very busy at home until she didn't even have time to revise her schoolwork and even her English and Chinese spellings. Eventually, their Teacher paired them up and instructed Nikki to teach and guide her in class.

Nikki understands from her that her dad works most of the time and is seldom home, her mum doesn't stay with them anymore. Her elder brother is the one who does the cooking at home and takes care of her and her sister.

The other day, her water bottle cracked in her school bag and all her books were soaked. For the next week days, she didnt have a water bottle and wouldn't want to drink from the water cooler because her dad forbids her to do so. She became so thirsty later in class until she even asked Nikki if she could drink from her bottle.

Few days later, she told Nikki during class that she's hungry because she didn't have enough money to buy food during recess.

Mummy's not sure if she should highlight this matter with the Teacher in the communication handbook but Daddy suggested to speak directly with the teacher instead.

School Holiday Programme

Nikki completed the first term assessments with flying colours! She have only one simple wish for her school holiday that is to play monopoly with our family. Her wish was eventually granted the other night after spending a whole day out with Noinoi, Mum and Dad.

Noinoi on the other hand have many wishes, these includes to return to King's Park in Perth, play bowling at the alley and swimming at Yiyi's house. During the first two days, we were in our best behaviours and Daddy and mummy were planning to bring us to the bowling alley.

But all these foiled because we quarreled with each other on the third day and even make our grandma so annoyed with us until Daddy have to rush back home to lecture us. It was then, Mummy and Daddy decided to cancel the bowling trip as penalty.

Having said that, they still love us a lot. As promised they took the day off yesterday to bring us out for movies and shopping. We couldn't decide which movie to watch as we were spolit for choice. Eventually Dad made a right choice by asking us to go for which was a nice movie with a simple yet meaningful message "LOVE". When you loves someone, there are some things that one should never say to hurt other's feelings. Sometimes, it maybe just too late to regret. Thank God that the movie didn't end up that way but closed with a happy ending filled with Love!

However, no doubt it was such a great movie, we were surprised to see that the entire cinema belongs to just our family and one other guy who slept through out the entire movie!

Swimming like a dolphin!

It is such a great relief to see that Noinoi is able to clear her mental block that she almost wanted to give it all up after 15 months of dutiful routine, water kicking with the swimboard, pool bouy and pushing the swimming pool wall.

We are rewarded with bursting joy when we learn that Noinoi could finally do her freestroke without aids. For first time in class, she's able to swivel her head smoothly, while coordinating her arms pulling smoothly like a little dolphin. Daddy used to say that she swims like a drowning shark, pushing her head out of the water, grasping for breath as if she's gonna chew someone's head off anytime!

This definitely calls for a little celebration which Mum and Dad are hoping to find some time during the term holiday to take us on a short retreat!

Nikki seems to be settling in well in school and also the new care arrangement. She can now wake up as late as she wants, plan and do things according to her own schedule in the morning before going to school.

Having said that, Nikki started her first term of school with some interesting encounters. One of them was the time when one of her classmates asked her for money after Nikki overheard that she told another friend that her daddy is very sad because he has no money. Some time later, the same girl gave Nikki a princess sticker and told her that she will give her more stickers each time Nikki can make her happy!

Blinds Down

Mummy requested for Dad to log this in the blog about Noinoi's strange theory. For the past couple of weeks when they come back from work, the entire house window blinds were all drawn down. When mummy asked Noinoi about it, she kept saying that she's scared of outside and kept avoiding the topic! She wouldn't even want to sit at the sofa next to the window. Some of those days she will either call Daddy or Mummy in the afternoon to ask them to take her out of the house!

Finally, one evening couldn't withstand mum's probing, she finally let the cat out of the bag. She said she dare not look outside the window because she will see people walking around and she will feel like wanting to go out too!

Nikki started taking the school bus last week and she's enjoying the rides so far. She has a 'boy' friend in school that has been tagging along with her most of the time in school. He's so sweet to even help her to check the bus license plate number to make sure that she gets on the correct bus after school.

斜斜不要玩 "See Saw"

It's Chinese New Year's Day, a time to celebrate! Despite we didnt have much time to prepare for the festive season as Mummy and Daddy were both very busy. We are blessed to have a wonderful time visiting our relatives.

In the lift yesterday, Noinoi kept singing "斜斜不要玩 See Saw". Daddy and Mummy couldn't figure out who's 斜斜 or is it 姐姐 but she insisted that it is not 姐姐! Only much later did we find out she actually meant and sang was part of the nursery song she learnt from the tuition class that goes "叔叔, 阿姨给红包, 谢谢不要忘记说".

At granduncle's house or we would prefer to say that's it's "Monkey's" (Granduncle's dog) house, someone brought along a cute silky terrier puppy to visit. Her name happened to be 小黑, Daddy said that he used to have a similar dog by that name too. Nikki was excited upon hearing that asked where is the dog now? Daddy replied that the dog ran away and lost his way eventually. As we were playing with the puppy, she seems to like our Daddy very much and seems to know him said Noinoi. Noinoi later ran inside the house and ask granduncle how did the puppy come to his house! When we were about to go home, she actually wanted to bring the puppy back also, thinking the puppy must be Daddy's dog that had ran away more than 15 years ago!

Two Wars, Two Syringes and more than Two Hours

There had been two wars in our house last evening and this morning. All of us have been trying so hard to coax, coerce and almost wanted to con Noinoi to take her medication. She just simply refused! Daddy took more than an hour last night to coax her.

This morning was worst, since 8.00am the entire family was involved including Daddy, Mummy, Granny and Nikki, she just kept crying and begging for the whole 2 hours until Mummy and Nikki were the first to give up, followed our Granny. Thank God for her wisdom, she eventually took her second and final syringe of medicine at 10.00am. By then, Daddy was dead beat tired and feeling sick too!

Having said that, she was sweet in a way when she begged for mercy, she kept saying, I very scared! You must trust me! I love you but I just dun want the medicine! She really melt Daddy's heart.....Poor Noinoi....We want you to be healthy always and we love you very much too!

Time flies into 2011

Each time Daddy logged on to this blog, he never fail to be taken by surprised how time flies whenever he realized when was the last time he last posted on this blog. Since the Countdown Party on 31 December 2010, he has literally worked through the "years" for the RC Centre Opening on 1 January 2011 and clearing his main assignment for this term that was due on 3 January 2011. The good news now is he has finally completed and submitted his dissertation paper last week and completed his exam for this term yesterday.

Both our parents were so busy during the school holiday, until Ah Zhen Yiyi have to stand in with Granny to bring us to the Universal Studio!

Besides our little adventure and all the Christmas parties in December last year, January was again another busy month for all of us. Nikki started her student care and primary school.

We too, are also trying our best to adjust and adapt to our new schedules for classes. Poor Nikki even have to take her lunch in the car while daddy sent Noinoi to her ballet class after church, because she has another class straight after.....sounds like the confession of the tiger mum/dad or the lifestyle of a typical Singaporean student?
