Our 100th Post

This maybe our 100th post but we are not so much into the mood to celebrate yet. We have a bad news to share........... Jayden is now attending another school according to Noi Noi as she was told by her teacher. Though she told daddy that she will not miss him as she now has Emmanuel to play with her after school. She wrote in her secret book last night that reads : "Jayden is shifting "two" another school".

Second day of the new term, many of the gals classmates are not back in school yet. We wonder how long will this situation last. Even Nikki hesitated when Daddy asked her today if she still wants to go Australia with the current situation.

Noinoi's Secret

Daddy & Mummy were amazed when Noinoi told them what she drew in her secret message book. She said the girl in the picture is herself and the boy is Jayden, they are out watching stars under the moonlight. Daddy, mummy and Jiejie were all not there because we were at home!

Last evening, we were all Flu vaccinated except mummy who was out facialing. At first, Nikki was kindof hesitant at first but after witnessing Daddy and Noinoi being inoculated without even tweaking their eyes, she decided to brave it out. Praise the Lord, yes, she did her prayers as suggested by the doctor before he administered the injection. Bravo! in less than a couple of seconds, she did it too! Before she slept, she told Daddy that if she ever needs to be injected again, she would want to go back to the same doctor, because he's good that's why his injection is "not painful". Congratulations Dr Goh, you're the second doctor that has won her heart! Huh...Nikki seems to have a soft spot for doctors?

Our Super Lame weekend

It was really a 180 degree turnaround this week comparing our Super Duper busy weekend last week. No show, no art lesson, no piano (except the usual practises), even no Sunday dinner @ Nainai's house.

It was a Kite-flying and "Arty" weekend, we been out flying kites both days and our daddy enjoying his every "Arty" taste of "Memoirs of a Geisha" and "Bride and Prejudice".

We even tried our hands on our very own not Gingerbread but M&M Breadboys

Thank God for the simplicity. We are contented.
"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever." 1 John 2:15-17

Our Super Duper Busy Weekend

Yippee, Dashing Daddy is back with his updates. We were extremely busy last Saturday, we started the day with an early morning breakfast @ Alliance Française followed by the Ginger Breadman Show by I Theatre.

After the show, we had lunch @ our pretty Gugu's house where Nikki catch up with her piano lesson after a 2 weeks long break. Gugu gave Nikki 2 new very challenging songs to prepare, even daddy couldnt even catch up with the tempo.
After the lesson, we were supposed to take our nap in AC's room ,but we were all too excited to sleep, turning and tossing all the time. We were all looking forward to AC's birthday Carnival (You'll know wat we mean after seeing the pictures below)

By the end of the day, we literally dropped "dead" on our beds after we reached home.

Sunday was slightly better, we woke up early for our favourite "Prata" breakfast before heading for Carpenter's Workshop. After class and lunch, we went to the library and picked up more than 20 books (School Holiday loan limits are doubled the usual entitlement).

We didn't call it a day after dinner, instead we headed to the Expo's Popular bookfair. That goes without doubts how tired we were by Monday morning. :P

Poor Noti Noi Noi & Bookworm Nikki

Noi Noi was extremely sentimental over her old shoes after Daddy told her that he will donate her old shoes to the poor children. Daddy could not find her at the bed during bedtime and guess where he found her? She was standing at the door weeping with her tears flowing straight into the paper bag with her shoes inside. " Daddy, I really love my shoes, you know!".

Noi Noi was rude to mummy also the other day, mummy decided to teach her a lesson telling her that she will not love her anymore, she was so sad. Daddy played along with mummy telling Noi Noi to pray and seek God's forgiveness and only be His grace, mummy will love Noi Noi again!

So much about our noti Noi Noi, how about Nikki? She's doing fine, catching up on her readings. Why? because.... Mummy has been stocking up all those chapter books for her from MPH Expo book fair to Popular members' Sales. Warnings has been issued for Daddy to clear his books from the shelves to make space for the new stocks!

Motivation

Daddy and Mummy have never seen the girls so motivated to go and sleep until last week. We were on our way back from the music class when Nicky kept pestering Daddy to drive faster so that she can sleep early because she needs to be in school by 8.15am the next day. She got it all planned that she will brush her teeth first thing after we reached home, then sleep by 10pm. She was so afraid that she would oversleep the next day, so Daddy introduced the great invention called the "Alarm Clock".

Wondering what's going on? She's going for her school excursion or "excurgen" she calls it.

Noelle was also anxious to take her afternoon nap last weekend, what is she upto? She's going to Ashley's birthday party and "Jayden" will be there too!

Nikki's First Test

Mummy brought Nikki to sat for her first piano test last Wednesday 25 March 09. Thinking it's only a prep test before the Grade one exam, mummy was caught off guard by the solemn atmosphere upon arrival.

Thank God, the test went off smoothly and pretty enjoyable for Nikki who did reasonably well. What a relief! She was so proud of her performance and announces to everyone that the examiner said that she did well (Daddy said all the examiners will say the same comment to all the students, hahaha).

Noinoi's new joke

Noinoi has been having so much jokes and tricks up in her sleeves these days.

First, she asked mummy to give her a baby sister because her cousin Ray has a baby sister but she dont have!
Next, she confused Daddy's friends by telling them that she's Nikki and her sister is Noinoi.

Now, she has a boyfriend and he's name is Jayden. She has been "chatting" with him for the past few days.

Daddy wonder what is it for tomorrow?

Quick Summary of our Macau & HK trip

Mummy has been pestering Daddy to write something on our last Macau and Hong Kong trip. But Daddy was just too busy to do so, he have not even sort out the videos that he took during the trip. Well, at least he's making some effort to update this blog for now.

We left on 19 February 09, just few days after Nikki's birthday. It was supposed to be her birthday treat afterall. Upon arrival, we were mesmerised by the dazzling neonlites of the many casinos.
The Metropark hotel we checked in was quite a good choice, first and foremost it's entertainment free. No rowdy casino, disco or pub. It's pure decent and cosy for families like ours.

We started our second day with an early morning tour about the historical heritage of Macau. From St. Paul's ruins, Senado Square, Fisherman's Wharf, the statue of "Angmo" Kuanyin and many more all in just less than 6 hours. We even have our bites on the infamous Pork Chop bun of Macau, witness the most exciting buggy jumping from the Macau Tower right in front of our eyes. That eye opening sight left Noinoi grumbling non stop over those dare devils that they are so noti and cannot jump off the building like that.....so dangerous......so noti......Daddy cannot learn ok.....

In the evening, we visited the enchanted Venetian... that was Daddy's favourite and indeed claimed to be in a class of it's own.

We left for Hong Kong the next day after breakfast and checked into The Salvation Army Headquarter's Booth Lodge just outside Yau Ma Tei MTR station. Immediately, our shopping spree started off with Mummy and Daddy indulging themselves at the Espirit Factory outlet store at the first day of arrival in Hong Kong.

No need to mention, the shopping spree spirit continues the following day after the morning ride on the Ngong Ping 360 cable car ride to Ta Yu Shan to watch 2 Monkey cartoon shows.

The second last day was the highlight for the children...think no need to mention also it's Mickey Mouse! at the Hong Kong disneyland. However, the weather was surprisingly hot for February when we were at the theme park until mummy and porpor decided to switch back to their shopping mode into the shopping centres, leaving us, Daddy and Granny to continue exploring Disneyland. No regrets for us as we finally gets to watch High School Musical for the first time.

Finally, on the last day, we packed our reluctant hearts and sweet memories back to Singapore. Mummy's already planning for our next trip.........to be continued.

Istana Garden Party - 8 February 2009

When Daddy came back this evening, Noinoi asked him where he went earlier. He told her that he went to the Istana Garden Party to meet the Prime Minister and President. Innocently, both Nicky and Noinoi asked what is a Prime Minister and President.

Daddy was dumbfounded for a moment then he tried to explain that the Prime Minister and President are the people who run the country. In Wikipedia, defines Prime Minister the most senior minister of cabinet in the executive branch of government. A prime minister is the official who is appointed to manage the civil service and execute the directives of the president.

Daddy told mummy, of all the Ministers that he met today, the only one that he felt so honoured to meet was the Minister Mentor, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. The moment he was walking down from the staircase assisted by his aides, he was welcomed by thunderous applause and endless camera flashes. Daddy decided to join in the crowd to snap a shot of the Singapore "Father". Seeing the MM having to be assisted down the stairway, Daddy suddenly have this crunch, wondering how many more years and chances to be able to snap a picture for this great man.

Adverturous Noinoi

Firstly was trying to balance on top of the ball, second was the new year look haircut. The latest stint from our Princess Noinoi was stuffing a rolled up sticker into her nostril that scared the wits out of everyone in the house.

We were having lunch at home after Nicky's art class yesterday. Noinoi told mummy that she got sticker inside her nose. When mummy check, she was shocked to see a ball of paper stuck almost reaching her nasal cavity. It was after umpteen times of attempts of digging and nose blowing that finally got the ball of sticker out from her nose.

Our pictures are featured in the "War Cry" magazine again this month, not just us even Daddy and Auntie Phyllis also have their fair share of "identity explosure".

New Year, New Look

Daddy bought 2 new lights for our house, we thought they're cosy but mum thinks otherwise. we almost wanted to put up a poll to decide whether to keep it this way.

Nicky and Noinoi did their parts too contributing to the CNY decorations with their own creations.

Noinoi tried to have a new look also using her handicraft scissors to snap her hair this evening. Poor girl, she got worried and cried after daddy told her that her hair doesn't look nice anymore.

Parties, Parties & more parties

Starting the ball rolling was our children Christmas party last Saturday, thanks to all our friends and their parents' support and contributions. The food was great and most importantly, we had a wonderful time. Our Mei Mei Gugu even brought along her electronic piano to lead us in the caroling but we promise to be better singers next year!

Daddy also have plans for next year's Christmas party to be held in a Hotel function room and a MUST to remember that is each individual family should have their family photo taken and a group photo for all for sweet remembrance.

Christmas eve morning, Daddy and mummy brought Nicole for her eye check-up and coincidentally, her eye doctor turned out to be the MP for our estate. He confirmed a 100 degree astigmatism for her left eye, but meanwhile nothing needs to be done as we have to wait and observe for three more months to see if there's improvement. After the check-up, we attended Daddy's office party and this is the first year that mummy came to join us at the office party.

As the mentioned in the title, our party schedule did not stop there. Following next, was the gathering at mummy's friends place on the following Saturday afternoon, and the Annual Shister's Year End Party on Saturday evening, Phoebe's birthday party this Sunday afternoon and finishing the year with the Countdown party at AVCC.

On Sunday, we did our first debut piano performance at our music school's concert at the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce. Though the concert was a bit disorganised but we had great fun.

Daddy's one second of fame

Here's Daddy - the happy begger! Don't you think he looks professional? Hahaha, we are also joining in the fun this evening.

At the kettlepot stand, Daddy asked Nicole if she's tired, her answer was no. But back inside the car, she asked Mummy why are her legs painful. She probably couldn't differentiate what's aching and pain! Nevertheless, both Daddy and Mummy were so proud of them both especially Nicole who stood through the whole two hours ringing bells and distributing pocket calendars.

All ready for Music school's concert

The music school concert is scheduled on 21 Dec o8. Nic will be partnering with Alicia and Noi noi will be ringing the bells. Hehehe! We even got our performance dresses and shoes all ready.

Today's public holiday, We finally managed to do our Christmas and CNY shopping. Here's our harvest: Christmas presents for Ray, gift exchange and etc. couple of dresses, pullovers and jeans for both of us to wear for CNY (Wait till you see our CNY dresses you'll know what's call sexy! Hehehe), a pair of shoes for Noinoi to wear for the concert, 2 New quilt covers for us again and a belt for Daddy.

How about mummy? Think she has forgotten to shop for herself. Anyway, she already has gotten her Christmas present from Daddy this year. One that she's been longing for and best of all, she gets to pick it herself!

By the way, Christmas party potluck list is out! Most of our guests have confirmed their dishes. They will be receiving the confirmation email from our Party planners.

Last vacancy for NAFA Art class

Daddy and mummy left home early last Saturday morning to register for Nicole's Art class at NAFA. Reaching there at 6am, they were Team No. 15 to reach the pit-stop. After 3 hours of waiting, they finally got the last of the 3 balanced places for their preferred slot class. Hooray! Thank God! "Can't wait to start my Art class, Mrs Sunder said I could draw and relate my pictures very well" says Nicole.

Feeling much relieved after registration, they adjorned to United Square for some "retail and munching therapies" before heading home to crash on their bed. Mummy's retail therapy did not end there. In the evening, while at Gugu house for Nicole's piano lesson, mummy and Gugu continued with their cyber handbag search in between time.

It is confirmed that Nicole and Noelle will be performing at the Music School concert end of this month. We wonder how will it be like? Teacher Karen even helped us to buy a cute santa hat hairband to wear for the concert. We were told to wear formal dresses in either pink, white or red.

By the way for coffee lovers or Starbucks supporters, the annual free treat will be this Thursday 4 Dec 08 from 5pm - 7pm. My Daddy will be at the branch at Liat Towers, where the official launch will be held. Hope to see you there!

Cough bugs go away!

Nicole has been coughing since last week and it has not gotten any better yet. She has been missing classes and lots of activities such as the Nursing Home's fund raising carnival and her long awaited Disney Princess classic show last weekend. Nevertheless, she did not throw tantrum instead she even greeted Daddy and Noelle good bye and enjoy the show that evening. That really warmed Daddy's and Mummy's hearts and even God was so pleased that He made the largest rainbow that day, even Daddy has never ever seen before!

According to Mummy, she even said this to mummy later that evening, "I wonder if Mei Mei, Daddy and Gugu enjoy the Princess show?" To reward her graciousness and compensate her losses, Daddy took some videos for her. Gugu and Daddy also bought some collectibles for her

Despite that Nic was not well, she still makes an effort to practice her piano. Here's her latest practice and the little monkey, Noi Noi's!

No eye check-up today! Nic was scheduled to have her eye check-up today after the failed eye assessments at the Polyclinic couple of months back. Unfortunately, she was coughing and down with fever at 38 degrees today. The medication from the GP doesn't seem to work for her. Since we were at the KK hospital, Daddy and Mummy decided to let Nic see the doctor again.

The nurse at KK Eye Centre recommended KK's Private Clinic which was not too far away from the Eye Centre. Nevertheless, the clinic only have one doctor and waiting time could be as long as 2 hours according to the registration staff at the clinic. She suggested that we go to the hospital's Children Emergency department whereby the charges will be the same (i.e. $80 for consultation except at the Emergency, medication will be included unless non-standard prescription is required). Most importantly, they have more doctors there.

At the Children Emergency, Nic temperature shot up to 39 degrees and the registration staff gave her paracetamol immediately. End of the day, we still waited about 90 mins before we get to see the doctor.

Exactly like those scenes in E.R., the short stopover was not at all pleasant. The whole place was filled with heartwenching baby cries and children screaming and weaning. Faces of worried parents running in and out and some with their helpless helper and grandparents running behind. The only calm eyes we could see were those above the masks of the medical professionals. Their hearts must have been numbed by their daily encounters.

Anyway, getting back to where we first started. Nic's eye check has been postponed till December 2008. Hopefully it will not hinder our Christmas plans and she does not have to put on eye patch when she goes back to school next year.

P.S.> Nic was punished this morning for throwing tantrums when she discovered Dad brought Noi out in the morning before she woke up. Because of her bad attitude today, mum also got lectured by daddy for sparing the rod.

Here's daddy's quote for the day: "Parenting is like tying with rubber bands, shouldn't be too tight that it'll break nor should it be too loose that defeat it's purpose."

Mummy was at the Popular book fest not once but twice last week. She even took half day leave just to go shopping at the book fest. Check out her harvest...

Total damage? Unpredictable!

Another unpredictable? We were at the "Hungry Caterpillar" with Adam last weekend. The noise level in our car was really unpredictable especially Noi noi and Adam, they kept arguing throughout the whole journey. Nevertheless, Daddy said that we are still very adorable!
